Why you should hire me

Why you should hire me

24 years of technology experience.

18 years of web development experience.

10 years of digital marketing experience.

Digital Marketing is a relatively new field.  Few people have broad experience with email marketing, social media, SMS, SEO, and PPC.  Fewer still have a decade of experience in those skills.  I am one of those people.  Couple that with my technology background and you are looking at a digital marketing powerhouse.

Did you know that HTML/CSS for email marketing campaigns does not follow the same rules as HTML/CSS for web pages?

Only a few dozen people can claim to have built an email marketing platform.  Only a handful have built platforms that were successful enough to be acquired by larger companies.  Again, I am one of those people.

In July 2003 I joined a 15-person company called BizActions as “the tech person”.  My initial responsibilities included maintenance of the BizActions email marketing application (version 2) and general technology support for employees. In 2004 I expanded my department by hiring a developer to maintain version 2 while I wrote version 3, which released in 2005. Version 3 expanded the standard newsletter delivery with the addition of Email Radar, a targeted email drip tool. In 2006 I implemented alerts and auto-responder systems. In 2007 I introduced social media integration into the platform.  In 2008 I implemented Port25’s PMTA, a mass email outbound server, and broke with ESP standards by implementing Personal Sending Domains with dedicated IPs in response to a Spamhaus blacklisting incurred by one of our clients. Delivery, open, and click rates each increased over 100% as a result and customers were protected from each other’s delivery practices with deliverability sandboxes. In 2009 I was promoted to VP of Technology and expanded my team by adding a second programmer and a network administrator. By 2011 the version 3 product had taken the company from $2.5 million in annual revenue to more than $5 million in annual revenue. In February 2012 BizActions was acquired by Thomson Reuters. Design of Version 4 began in July 2012, focusing on a new User Interface using Kendo UI. Development of Version 4 began in November 2012 and is still in progress.  Throughout my almost 10 years with BizActions/TR I filled many roles: manager, product architect, digital marketer, and programmer. I built servers, managed vendor relationships, managed a technology staff, architected a product, and built an email delivery platform that has become the de facto platform for CPAs.

Did you know that your Sending Reputation is affected by sending frequency, sending volume, bounce rates, post-bounce processing, SPAM complaints, and more?
